e33 Stimulating Stimulus

fds

We're heartened at e Sailing Yachts to see new e33 construction continuing at our budgeted pace for 2009, despite this tough economy. Why are people still buying boats? Maybe they realize that creating lasting memories with families and friends is what it’s all about, and there’s no better place to enjoy life than out on the water. And what  better way to help the economy get back on its feet than to purchase an all-American designed and built e33 performance daysailer which provides the one type of peace that can’t be found ashore.

Our new building facility, e Yacht Builders, offers true customization at controlled costs and, as an added incentive, we are currently offering a spring stimulus package with all new orders that includes:  Doyle racing sails, a Doyle Stack Pack, cruising bottom finish, custom laminated tiller, and the asymmetric spinnaker system options (approximately a $10,000 value).

Now that’s a stimulus package that is ready for launch! Contact us today to learn more about this limited time offer.

e33 Square Top Main

New Square Top Main
Doyle Sails has developed a new square top mainsail for the e33 (see photo). The shape is similar to the sails seen on the latest America’s Cup boats and is another example of making a good thing even better. Overall sail area is unchanged, but re-distributed. Benefits include even greater efficiencies in a broader range of wind speeds, more power in lighter air, and an improvement in the  automatic depowering that makes the e33 so easy to control in a higher wind range. This new Mainsail comes standard on all new e33’s, and is also available for purchase by current owners.

e33 standard

New Standard Keel Geometry
Our design team discovered some especially efficient geometries when creating the new shoal and lifting keel options (see below) and were inspired to make improvements to the already efficient and ultra low center gravity keel on the standard e33. The result?  An even more spectacular sailing experience.  Computer modeling and performance predictions forecast a one boat length advantage per mile when sailing to windward.

This new keel will be standard on all new e33 orders.

e33 Lifting Keel

Lifting Keel
e33 hull #14 was the first e33 launched with a lifting keel. When lowered in the sailing position, this special keel draws 6’- 6” and has a torpedo-shaped lead bulb attached to the end of a carbon fiber foil (see photo). The foil has vertical leading and trailing edges to allow for the keel to lift up 30” to a 4’ draft for motoring and mooring in shallow water. The whole system is hydraulically controlled and can be operated from the cockpit mounted panel. The keel’s truly unique feature solves the common problem of a lifting keel becoming unstable and banging against the hull and scratching the foil. This innovative design allows the keel to remain totally stable in all positions. Contact Persak & Wurmfeld to learn more.

e33 Shoal Draft Keel

Shoal Keel
e33 hull #15 is the first e33 launched with 4’- 9” shoal keel which provides the same righting moment and equal lift as the standard draft version. Persak & Wurmfeld designed this high lift and low drag foil with an integrated bulb.  An excellent choice for shallow water sailing, the shoal keel is now an option on all new e33’s.
